About Me
Welcome to my personal web page. This web page is about me, yet obviously not quite. I am far from being over 100 years old, yet the diary entries here reflect my interests in history, technology of all types, the unknown yet to be found in the world, and the wonder present as the Industrial Revolution was still in it’s infancy.
Much like the character I portray myself to be in these pages, I am interested in a wide variety of pursuits. Like a Victorian Gentleman of the past I feel a well rounded modern man must have a wide variety of interests and knowledge. He must be inquisitive, able to take criticism of his flaws both in personality and in his work, and constantly strive to better himself mentally, morally, physically. He should be able to communicate fluently (in multiple languages if possible,) and converse on a wide range of topics from technology and history to philosophy, politics and World Events.
In addition he must be capable, or at least willing to get his hands dirty at what would have been considered menial labor in those days. He must do what needs to be done and take pride in doing so and doing it correctly to the best of his abilities.
Of course a well rounded gentleman would not be complete without an artistic bent. He does not need play an instrument, be able to paint Monet worthy scenes, or mimic such greats as Oscar Wilde or Mark Twain. But he should be able to recite a simple poem, sing a song, write creatively, or attempt to capture the beauty in the world.
In short he should leave the world and his surroundings in better condition then he came upon them. This is what I attempt to do.
